READING STRATEGIES AND TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW

Reading is foundational learning activity for college-level courses. Reading skills can help you a lot in your daily life (In college and Universities) like taking notes or even during seminars that you have to do very often in college. We need to read many new books that will help in our daily life in our young age and this required lot of practise. Reading the College textbook effectively takes practise and should be approached differently than reading a novel, comic book or any other reading material.

THIS ARE SOME TIPS YOU MIGHT FIND HELPFUL TO INCREASE YOUR READING SKILLS.

1) Schedule time to read- Reading is an easy thing to put off because there is often no exact due date. By scheduling time each week to do your reading for each class, you are more likely to complete the reading as if it were an assignment. If you are morning person or Night person it does not matter, you just need to schedule the time for reading.

2)Visualising - Many Studies have shown that students who visualise while they read have better recall that those who do not, ever wonder why you always remember the things that you saw, the reason is pretty same for each.

3) Questioning- After reading, you should question yourself about the topic you just read. Trust me it will help you a lot in remembering the topic and during recall of this topic.

4) Taking Notes as you read- If you are reading some vast topic and you are just reading it continuously you will forget most of the topic with time and you have to read it again. So here is the best way to remember and easy to revise the topic. Taking notes while you read will help you a lot in future and will save your time while revising the topic in future.

5) Monitor your comprehension - When you finish your reading section, ask yourself- what you learned from this topic and how much do you understand it. Could I answer the question on this topic which I have just read. If you are having difficulty in recalling the section you just read, look into notes you just prepared or in back in book and recall that specific topic which you read. HAPPY READING_
