BOOKS WRITTEN BY FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF INDIA

India was ruled by the British for almost 200 years. It started with Robert Clive winning the Battle of Plassey in 1757 and ended with India getting independence in 1947. The long struggle to achieve this involved the blood, sweat and tears of innumerable freedom fighters. Thousands of them sacrificed their lives so that India could be freed of the British rule while many got the chance to see the country as an independent nation. Here is the list of books which were written by great freedom fighters of India.

THIS IS THE LIST OF BOOKS WRITTEN BY FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF INDIA.

1) India Divided by Rajendra Prasad
The book specifically examines the theory that the Hindus and Muslims of India were two nations and concludes that the solution for the Hindu–Muslim issue should be sought in the formation of a secular state, with cultural autonomy for the different groups that make up the nation.
2) Why I am an Atheist by Bhagat Singh
How can a young man who lived only for 23 years write such a masterpiece with extraordinary philosophical ideas while he was in Lahore Jail waiting to be hanged? The situation in which he wrote this book might have turned even the strongest atheist into a religious person. But not Bhagat Singh. He is a true example of the word firebrand, which might be the reason why we are still talking about him with so much passion even after around 100 years.
3) Hind Swaraj by Mahatma Gandhi
It is in this book that Gandhi announced his life's mission for the first time: moral regeneration of Indians and political emancipation of Mother India. Hind Swaraj teaches "the gospel of love in place of that of hate. It replaces violence with self-sacrifice. It pits soul force against brute force".
4) The Golden Threshold by Sarojini Naidu

He died a few weeks after sustaining severe injuries during a baton charge by police when he led a peaceful protest march against the all-British Simon Commission, a commission constituted by the United Kingdom for Indian constitutional reform. In this book, Lala Lajpat Rai gave a reply to Katherine Mayo, a journalist who wrote a biased book on India depicting only its problems. Rai compared Indian society with the USA and Britain of that time and pointed out that their situation is not much different than India.

Dr. BR Ambedkar is also known as the father of Indian Constitution. In this book he wrote about the caste discrimination in India. The immorality of cast was sustained by Vedas and Shastras.

The book provides a broad view of Indian history, philosophy and culture, as viewed from the eyes of an Indian fighting for the independence of his country. He wrote the book during his imprisonment. In The Discovery of India, Nehru argued that India was a historic nation with a right to sovereignty.
